Free 1 Yr Subscription to Plain Truth Magazine

The Plain Truth (PT) is bold and uncompromising, a refreshing and welcome voice in the midst of tired, "same old, same old" Christian journalism. The PT challenges religious legalism that masquerades as authentic Christianity, calling attention to issues that divert our attention from Christ toward human effort, accomplishment and performance. We don't compromise with the gospel of Jesus Christ while challenging unbiblical religious practices and ideas that have given and continue to give God a bad name.

I love the Lord and I think it is so important to realize that the Devil is constantly trying to tempt us. This magazine can help us identify what is tempting us in "Plain Truth"

This is a very encouraging book. We get so discouraged when we think our prayers are not answered. God answers prayer according to his "will". You should write down your prayers so you don't forget about what you prayed for and mark them off as they are answered. God does answer prayer!

The Truth Project - Week 1

Last week I posted about a new bible study (The Truth Project) my husband and I are doing with our church. We started last Wednesday and it was amazing.  I never really thought about why it was called The Truth Project but I quickly learned at our first session that we are going to find out what the "Truth" is.

I have never read through the complete bible. I am working on it now before my bedtime (kids are asleep). Come to find out in our study that Jesus refers to himself many times as "The Truth". I have heard this before but always thought of it as my own definition of "Truth". Wait! I can't even explain my definition of "Truth".

This is where the thinking comes in What is Truth? Why did Jesus come to this world to bear witness to the "Truth" (John 18: 37,38) ?

With our study we purchased a Daily Travelogue that has a daily study of this topic. This keeps our minds spinning until Wednesday (our next study).

Do you have a definition (not the dictionary) of the truth? What does it mean to you?

Did you miss my post last week? Read about The Truth Project post.

The Truth Project

This week my husband and I are joining our church in a bible study called "The Truth Project". The study is 12 weeks long. I'm really looking forward to this because my husband and I rarely do studies together. It's really hard with the kids to focus but luckily our church will be providing child care.

The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.

Has anyone completed this study? I would be really interested to hear your thoughts!

Encouragement

Lately the lord has been putting in my heart that we need to encourage people that minister God's word. There are a ton of different ministries but here are a few that come to mind quickly: Musicians, Pastors, Teachers and Blogs.

I feel this is so important because they are surrounded by satan's demons and are constantly battling evil. If you can think of anyone that you can encourage, do it now. We need to support our brothers and sisters for their hard work. Ways to do this can be to comment on their Facebook page and say "you are doing a great job!" Also keep them in your prayers. It's always nice to hear that someone is praying for you.
